Description
An account of the resource
The open headpiece is centred at the top of the page and runs the width of the letterpress in a triple, interlaced wave scroll. The scrollwork features the heads and necks of three birds, which are identical and lined up beside each other. The neck of each bird is twisted backwards into a spiral, with each beak extending towards the top-right corner of the page, holding a section of their neck within it. You can see one eye of each bird. Three feathers extending from each bird overlap with the one next to it. The headpiece is drawn in black ink against a white background.

Description
An account of the resource
The boxed zoomorphic headpiece is centred at the top of the page and runs the width of the letterpress. The rectangular frame contains a symmetrical design of two pigs facing each other in profile at centre, across an intricate Celtic knotwork design. The pigs sit on oak branches, that extend to each side of the ornament to terminate with oak leaves and two stylized acorns.

Description
An account of the resource
The irregular geometric headpiece is centred on the top of the page. At its centre is a human face. Surrounding the face is a triangular shape and a series of geometric lines. The lines extend out from the triangular shape to create the four corners of the ornament, forming an open rectangular shape.. On either side of the face are curved ribbons, interlacing in a knotwork pattern at the corners.

A Dream of Angus Oge
Subject
The topic of the resource
Frame story is contemporary; sister Norah tells traditional Cuculain tale to Con, who re-enacts the heroes; sister sings him to sleep, invoking the Lord of the Wand; Con in turn summons the Shepherd, a golden-bearded man who flies over fairyland with him, to his home with the Danaans in their immortal lands, in a cave where “there was everywhere a wandering ecstasy of sound: light and sound were one; knight had a voice, and the music hung glittering in the air.” This is the cave of eternal forms, of which earth is a mere shadow. Shepherd identifies himself as Angus the Young, the sunlight in the heart, the moonlight in the mind. The child wakes.

The Cup of Happiness Pictorial Initial Letter
Subject
The topic of the resource
Textual Ornament
Description
An account of the resource
The initial letter “T” is capitalized and positioned in the upper right corner of the pictorial ornament, which is in an open rectangular shape. The pictorial ornament extends half way down the letterpress beside the first paragraph. In the foreground, a woman with dark hair stands upright, bending her right knee slightly and leaning back with her upper body. Her head is turned to the left so that only the side of her face is illuminated. The woman is naked beneath a transparent gauzy fabric decorated with flowers. A garland or tiara enrcircles the woman’s head, and a bright full moon behind her head gives the effect of a nimbus. She appears to be dipping her right hand in a goblet and holding a dark-coloured cup in her left hand. Below and at left lies the long-twisted body of a dragon or great worm. The dragon’s upper body is aligned with the foot of the woman. The dragon has two horns protruding from the top of its head, an open eye, and a small snout, and is spitting fire from its mouth. Its short, clawed, right leg is planted firmly on the ground, At the ornament’s base are two open lilies or lotuses. The same flowers fill the upper left background of the image. Among them, the artist's initials “C.R.” are positioned in a small white rectangle.
